What is nerve reflexology?
Reflexology uses pressure points on your feet to rebalance organs in your body. Nerve reflexology takes this learning and uses it to work with specific nerves. By tracking back the location of your pain to the nerve that is causing it, and then working this nerve, we can start to rebalance the area causing you problems, thus reducing your pain.
What pain can nerve reflexology help alleviate?
This is not an exhaustive list, if you are in pain then because this will always stem from a nerve, we can work with you. However, some common complaints which benefit are:
Chronic pain e.g. herniated disc
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Post operative pain
Lower back pain
Phantom limb pain
Fatigue, pain, cramps
What are the side effects of reflexology?
For 24 to 48 hours following your reflexology session you may feel a little worse, but this usually clears to make people feel on top of the world, full of energy and rejuvenated. This is likely to stop once you’ve had a few regular sessions.
Unlike prescribed drugs, reflexology doesn’t have the associated risks of dependency
or the nasty side-
I am on medication and am monitored by doctors, will reflexology affect this?
As reflexologists, we aim to balance your body and help it to heal itself. We are happy to work with doctors, but rest assured that reflexology will not decrease the effectiveness of any prescribed medication that you are taking. If anything, we’re aiming for you to work with your doctor to reduce your dependency on medication over time.
How long does it take to see results?
Everyone is different, but generally it only takes a few weeks to start seeing some
dramatic results -
Is there a consultation process?
There is. We will send a form over email to you so that you can complete this before you come along to your first session. You will need to return this to us on email at least 24 hours before your first session.
This form is confidential between you and your therapist.
Where will I be treated?
Your reflexology treatment will be in a comfortable, calm treatment room with soft lighting. We don’t do home visits. We're based in Gidea Park, Romford, Essex.
What will happen during the treatment?
During your reflexology session, you’ll sit in a reclining chair. You’ll remove your shoes and socks and then we’ll wipe your feet and begin your reflexology session.
How will I feel after reflexology?
You’ll generally feel relaxed and then later on alive and have more energy than you have had in a long time. In some instances, particularly when you first start your sessions you may experience a flare up in the 24 to 48 hours following your session as your body reacts and realigns but this rarely carries on beyond your first few sessions if you have them weekly.
Why would I not be able to have a reflexology treatment?
You wouldn’t be able to have nerve reflexology in the first 3 months of pregnancy, however, you can have specialist maternity reflexology in this time which helps with all issues related to being pregnant.
Please also check if you are on neuro-
Please Note: Reflexology is a totally safe and complementary treatment (it does not replace medical treatment). If you are in any doubt at all, please consult with your GP or specialist prior to treatment.
